The Mons-based SME, AMB Ecosteryl, specialising in manufacturing medical waste processing machines, hopes to take its first steps onto the U.S. market from 2016.

The company is part of a delegation on a technology mission conducted by AWEX in Texas and is using this opportunity in an attempt to establish a first pilot project in this State.

"We offer an environmentally-friendly, competitive and reliable solution on the global market", explains Olivier Dufrasne, Vice-President of Ecosteryl before continuing, "Through a process using microwaves, we can turn hazardous waste into non-hazardous waste which can then go to landfill or be recycled into fuel, for example for cement." This treatment process is presented as an alternative solution to incineration.

In ten years, the Walloon SME, which employs around thirty people in Mons, where its production site is based, has managed to make a name for itself worldwide, from France to Asia and South America.
