On the occasion of the State Visit of Their Majesties the King and the Queen of the Belgians to the People’s Republic of China, BioWin, the Health Cluster of Wallonia signed an agreement to develop new collaborations with Guangzhou Biotechnology Center (GZBIO), located in Canton.
Since 2011, BioWin has been operating in China (mostly in Shanghai), where the cluster, often in collaboration with the Wallonia Foreign Trade & Investment Agency (AWEx), has created a strong local network as well as many business activities to meet its company members’ needs (market access, partnering events, representation on fairs, help in regulatory affairs for the products registration, etc.).
After a first partnership with the Juke Biotech Park in Shanghai and with the Shanghai BioIndustry Association (SBIA), BioWin sustains its momentum and signs today, in the presence of His Majesty Philippe, King of the Belgians, a brand new collaboration agreement with Guangzhou Biotechnology Center (GZBIO), a professional service agency for biotech R&D and pharmaceutical industry gathering 400 members (start-ups, universities and research centers), in the Guangzhou area.
BioWin, represented by Mr. Jean-Pierre Delwart, President of the Board, and GZBIO, represented by Ms. Wu Cuiling, Director, are willing to create new R&D collaborations between their company members and more especially, those active in the fields of biotechnology, in vitro diagnostics, cell therapy, medical devices and radiotherapies.
Thanks to his agreement, BioWin company members will benefit from many resources (sound credibility, investments, close relationship with local public organizations such as the CFDA, the MOST, etc.) as well as key contacts to find innovative local partners, to develop new technologies and to launch their products in China.
